Kirkwood is pleased to be working with Huddersfield Town Football Club as part of the Football League’s national adoption of hospices throughout the 2011/12 season. 

The Hospice is already forging links with the club and hopes to continue to develop these links as the season progresses.  A team of staff from Huddersfield Town have already given a day of their time to volunteer at the Hospice.  Just prior to Christmas a group visited the Hospice, helping in the garden and wrapping Christmas grotto gifts.

On Saturday 24th March, it will be the Hospice’s chance to visit the home of Huddersfield Town, as the football club has set the game aside as a special Kirkwood Hospice 25th Anniversary celebration, kindly supported by Kirklees Active Leisure.  There will be a host of family activities and birthday celebrations on the day.

Kirkwood also has a limited number of specially priced tickets available for the game, situated in the Fantastic Media Stand.  These are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for children, with a donation of £5 and £1 respectively being made by Huddersfield Town to the Hospice for each ticket sold.  As if this wasn’t enough, the game at the Galpharm is against league leaders Charlton!
