Understanding Hospices

Throughout the United Kingdom there are over 200 hospices, caring for adults and children. Each hospice is unique but what is true to all of them is that they offer a range of services to help care for people with a life-threatening illness. To find out more about the history of hospices, who they help, the services that they offer and how they are funded please see our Ten Common Misconceptions About Hospices web page.
