Since 2009, the company has donated the sales proceeds of a special "charity" firework to Kirkwood. In 2009 and 2010, this firework was called “Golden Bees” and in 2011 it was called "Mighty Atom". In total Black Cat and Standard Fireworks has now raised a total of £10,623 for Kirkwood.
Austin Brown, General Manager from Black Cat and Standard Fireworks said: “We would like to thank everyone who has supported us in the last 3 years by purchasing the charity firework and we are proud to support Kirkwood Hospice again in 2012 - the care and support they offer to people within the Kirklees area is invaluable.”
Kate Leadbeater, Senior Community Fundraiser at Kirkwood Hospice added: “We are very grateful to Black Cat and Standard Fireworks for their continued support; it is wonderful to receive such a large donation 3 years in a row. Thank you so much to everyone who bought the firework in the last 3 years and we look forward to a successful campaign for 2012. Every penny raised will help the Hospice care for local people with life threatening illnesses.”
