Birdsedge Support Group

Mary Heeley was a committed supporter of the hospice after husband Jeff spent some time in it.  It seemed a natural thing to do to start a support group along with willing friends – that was in October 2001.  Mary is chairperson and Carole Ashley treasurer.

As bakers and knitters coffee mornings were the first things, then came lunches held at the Village Hall and in the Church school room.  The people running these places are very supportive and do not charge for the use of their facilities and are always there to help.  There is good support for the Beetle Drives held twice a year.

The newest support has come from Fairleigh Farm which has been selling homemade cakes, jams and pickles since September 2008.  This is fantastic and a big thank you to the Ellis family for their support.
