The Gardens

Last year, Kirkwood was delighted to win GOLD award at the Yorkshire in Bloom ceremony for the second year running. The beautiful gardens also won joint first in the Charitable Establishments category along with Barnsley Hospice.

The gardens here at Kirkwood provide for patients and families to spend time in, making memories and relaxing with loved ones.

The In-Patient Unit includes a private terrace for each room, that overlooks the gardens and many find comfort in sitting out and taking in the scenery.

Throughout 2019, the creation of a new herb garden and increased production of vegetables means our Catering Team have fresh home-grown ingredients to serve on a daily basis!
