Black Cat keeps sparks flying for Kirkwood Hospice
Here’s why internationally renowned fireworks company Black Cat are keeping their fundraising local for the third year running!
Renowned fireworks company Black Cat are keeping it local this Bonfire Night as they continue to support Kirkwood, which provides vital care for families in Kirklees.
Every year, firework sales rocket in October and November as the UK prepare to celebrate the famous annual commemoration, Guy Fawkes Night.
For the third year running, the local fireworks company are selling their ever popular sparklers with all proceeds going to Kirkwood.
Over the years Black Cat have raised a staggering £8,304 through the sale of the £1 pack of three sparkler promotion and this year is set to be no different as they hope to raise hundreds for Kirkwood.
To celebrate the launch of the promotion and the opening of the Factory Shop for 2019, Kirkwood Corporate Fundraiser Kate Leadbeater visited the Crosland Hill Company to meet Black Cat’s Gary Wilkinson and Kate Gibson-Drury.
Gary said: “We are delighted to continue our support for Kirkwood for the third year running. Kirkwood continues to provide excellent care and support to people who need it and their families living in our local community and has done for over thirty years now.
“We also have colleagues working here at Black Cat and Standard Fireworks who have personal connections to people cared for by Kirkwood. These two reasons make it an easy decision to continue our support in 2019.
“As per previous years, all proceeds from sparkler sales will be donated direct to Kirkwood. Sparklers are a family favourite on Bonfire Night and can be enjoyed by all! Get on down to our Factory Shop at Crosland Hill to buy your sparklers and help support a fantastic cause. I’d like to take this opportunity to say have a great Bonfire Night but remember the Firework Code!”
Kate said: “Everyone here at Kirkwood is so grateful for Black Cat and Standard Firework’s continued support over the years. We heavily rely on businesses supporting the care Kirkwood provides in the local community and it’s wonderful to have the team on board for the third year running.”
Black Cat has a very useful Firework Safety guide on our website at: www.blackcatfireworks.co.uk, which also contains advice on using sparklers safely.
The Standard Fireworks Factory shop is open every day from Friday 18th October until Saturday 9th November and then for one day only, the fireworks shop will open again on Monday 30th December. For opening times, visit: www.blackcatfireworks.co.uk
