FMGive raises over £5,500 for Kirkwood Hospice
Huddersfield based incident management specialists, FMG, chose Kirkwood as their 2018 charity of the year. Back in December, members of the team paid a very festive visit to the Hospice and presented a cheque of £2,500 after a successful year of fundraising.
Over the last 12 months, employees at FMG have gone the extra mile and hosted a variety of fundraisers, raising £5,612 in total for patient care at Kirkwood.
FMG is the UK’s leading provider of fleet incident management and specialist vehicle recovery services and remains one of Huddersfield’s largest private employers.
FMG’s charity fundraising team, FMGive, create fundraising calendars every year to celebrate the hard work done by all their employees, and to focus on supporting their local community through a variety of activities.

The Bradley-based company employs around 450 staff members who all got involved in this year’s fundraising for Kirkwood.
Employees hosted a festive party night, as well as regular dress-down days, book events, sweepstakes, bake-offs and raffle sales to boost funds for their Charity of the Year.
Amongst the fundraising events, in May 2018, FMG raised £2,000 during Kirkwood’s dedicated collection days aimed at filling a Kirkwood retail shop with items donated by their employees.

In October 2018, FMGive hosted their Autumn Charity Ball at the Cedar Court Hotel in Huddersfield and treated guests to a fabulous night with a red carpet entry and delicious 3 course meal, all in aid of Kirkwood and Forget-Me-Not Hospices.
FMGive has also given employees the opportunity to volunteer at Kirkwood by supporting in the lead up to events such as their flagship fundraiser, the Midnight Memory Walk, and newest campaign, Treecycling.
FMG’s IT Development Director, Martin Bluck, along with Executive Assistant, Laura Kaye and Fundraising Committee Member, Jenna Murten, were invited down to visit the Hospice during the Christmas period to present a cheque of £2,500 raised in the final few months of the year.

When discussing the year of fundraising, FMG’s Executive Assistant, Laura Kaye, said: “As a business, we have a genuine desire to create a positive impact within our local community, supporting causes close to our hearts.
“Partnering with Kirkwood provided that perfect link. Some of our colleagues have experienced first-hand their amazing work, through some of life’s most difficult times. The relationship we have built with the team at Kirkwood ensures they feel an extension of the ‘FMG family’.
“Kate Leadbeater provided invaluable support in our quest to give something back to our local community and make a positive impact to the lives of others.”
Kirkwood’s Business Partnership Development Manager, Kate Leadbeater, said: “Everyone here at Kirkwood is so grateful for FMG’s support throughout 2018. We rely heavily on businesses supporting the care we provide and we couldn’t continue to help people with life limiting illness in Kirklees without them.”
