Hospice shines in new ITV Yorkshire advertising campaign
The work of hospices across Yorkshire and the Humber region is being celebrated in a new advertising campaign that launches across the ITV Yorkshire region on March 1.
The advert - the first of its kind for hospices in the region - has been produced collaboratively by eleven centres, including children’s and adult hospices, to raise awareness of the high standard of support now being offered and encouraging supporters to ‘Keep Your Hospice Shining Brightly.’
And the stars of the campaign are the real life nurses, physiotherapists, patients, fundraisers, volunteers, housekeepers, bereaved family members and therapy dogs who help every day to bring hospice care to thousands of people across the north.
The message of the advert is clear and simple, highlighting that hospices provide expert care, comfort and support completely free of charge to growing numbers of people in the region - and none of it would be possible without the support of their local communities.
11 hospices in Yorkshire & Humber are involved in the campaign, which will run on ITV Daytime throughout March.
Featured in the short film – which will be screened in daytime slots on ITV Yorkshire throughout March – are team members from Ashgate Hospice in Chesterfield, Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice in Sheffield, Dove House Hospice in Hull, Herriott Hospice in Thirsk, Kirkwood Hospice in Huddersfield , Martin House Children’s Hospice in Wetherby, Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract, Saint Michael’s Hospice in Harrogate, St Gemma’s Hospice in Leeds, St Leonard’s Hospice in York and St Luke’s Hospice in Sheffield.
Kirkwood's Chief Executive Michael Crowther explained: "Hospices across Yorkshire and Humber help tens of thousands of people each year, supporting anyone affected by a life limiting illness, every step of the way. It's important that we can get those messages to as many people as possible.
"Our partnership with fellow independent hospices across the region has helped us to create a brilliant campaign, aimed at a huge audience which would normally be out of our reach for local charities like ourselves.
"The campaign is a chance for us to connect with people who might not know much about hospices or the vital work we do to support those affected by a life limiting illness.
"It's also a chance to say thank you for the amazing support we receive in our local communities - without the generosity of local businesses, groups and individuals, we simply wouldn't be able to continue providing the care we do."
The campaign launches on Friday 1 March when the TV advert premieres on ITV.
