Kalvin signs up to support his local Hospice
The Kirkwood Hospice Lottery gives players the chance to support a great local cause, as well as the opportunity to win up to £750 every single week. 28-year-old Kalvin Whyte recently signed up to the Kirkwood Lottery as a way to give to a local cause.
Kalvin Whyte, of Dalton, regularly supports Kirkwood Hospice by playing our Lottery every single week.
Kalvin has known about Kirkwood Hospice since he was a young child, having grown up close to Kirkwood’s main site in Dalton. Playing the Lottery has given Kalvin the chance to give back to his local community and have the chance of winning part of £1,000 in cash prizes every week.
Kalvin said: “A canvasser came to my door and explained he was from the local hospice. The word ‘local’ stood out to me as I only live in Dalton, just down the road from Kirkwood, so I decided to sign up.
“I’ve known about Kirkwood and where it is for as long as I can remember, I used to play in the woods and by the river close by.

“I forget that it’s a lottery, it’s more about supporting your local Hospice. I could need Kirkwood’s services one day.”
Kirkwood Lottery Manager, Dawn Walker, is delighted to have Kalvin on board as a regular player and thinks its important that people find out more information about the services Kirkwood provides.
Dawn said: “The Kirkwood Lottery is an important source of income, raising vital funds to help us to continue providing care for patients and families in Kirklees.
“But it also enables people to access information about the care we provide and how we can be there to support anyone affected by a life limiting illness.”
