Kirkwood cancels Open Air Cinema on Sunday 24th May due to Coronavirus

Kirkwood is sad to announce that both screenings at our Open Air Cinema event, which was due to take place on Sunday 24th May at Ravensknowle Park, has been cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

The following screenings were due to take place at Ravensknowle Park:

Sunday 24th Mary 3pm – Monsters Inc.

Sunday 24th May 7pm – Mamma Mia

Following the Government’s recent announcement that is moving to the delay phase of its plan to tackle coronavirus, and further guidance issued yesterday (Monday 16th March 2020) advising the general public to avoid large gatherings, and gatherings in smaller public spaces such as pubs, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, bars, clubs, we sadly have no other option than to cancel the Open Air Cinema event.

We are devastated to have to make this decision, however our main priority at events such as this is always the safety and wellbeing of our supporters, volunteers, suppliers and employees. We believe that, in the present situation, the risk is simply too high to allow us to go ahead with the screenings.

If you have already booked tickets for either showing on Sunday 24th May (Monsters Inc at 3pm or Mamma Mia at 7pm), you don’t need to do anything. You will automatically receive a full refund within the next three weeks.

We are sorry for any inconvenience that this cancellation may cause you. Thank you for understanding at what is a challenging time for us all.
