Kirkwood Hospice Coronavirus Emergency Appeal
Please help by making an urgent donation to protect your hospice, and your Kirkwood Nurses, as they protect the most vulnerable in our community.
At Kirkwood, we only have one chance to get it right as someone in our community reaches the end of their life. We cannot push that moment back, however much we might want to, and whatever is happening in the world.
Right now, our nurses are stepping forward, ready to do whatever it takes to ensure those on our In-Patient Unit, and those that are being cared for in their own homes, continue to receive the highest quality, compassionate care and support.
But the coronavirus outbreak is having a big impact on the resources available to provide care for local people when the need us most. We have had to cancel or postpone a number of our biggest fundraising events. Our shops are battling on, but less and less people are visiting us. And our amazing band of community of fundraisers can no longer support us in the way that they used to. 80% of our funds come from the local community, and without our regular income streams, the long term impact on our services could be devastating. That's why we need your help.
It costs over £20,000 each day to provide care. Thats around £600,000 each month. Your support will help us to reduce the impact that the coronavirus has on our future and enable us to focus on whats most important our patients and those closest to them.
Throughout this crisis, every single member of the Kirkwood team whether they are a nurse, doctor, therapist or cleaner is determined that nothing will prevent families in our care from creating special memories and focussing on precious times, for however long they can.
We need your help to make sure that the doors of Kirkwood will keep the noise and worry of the outside world at bay so that our patients and those they love can make the most of every single day they deserve nothing less.
