Pursuing the Peaks for Kirkwood Hospice
Later this year, a team from Bradford-based Hallmark Cards will tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge to raise vital funds for Kirkwood.
The group of 10 walkers have set the date of Saturday 4th May to take on the climb, which totals a huge 24 miles and 1,585 metres of ascent.
Taking place in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, the aim of the challenge is to take on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in under 12 hours.

At a meeting earlier in the year, members of the group Alex Jackson, Shaun Duffy and Fran Weldon visited the Hospice to find out more about the services offered by Kirkwood, as well as talking about plans for their fundraising.
The team decided to take on the Three Peaks Challenge as a way to have fun, while doing something for a good cause. Team members see it as a challenge to get fit and push each other towards their goal.
Group member, Alex Jackson, was especially keen to raise money for Kirkwood following the care her Grandma and Grandad were given at the end of their lives over ten years ago.

She said: “It was a challenge that we wanted to take on anyway, but doing it while raising money for Kirkwood means a lot to me.”
In preparation for May's challenge, the group are to take on training walks with increasing difficulty every two weeks, and are encouraging friends and family to join in.
After just a month of fundraising, the team have already raised £220 and are almost halfway to their total fundraising target.
