The KirkWild Crew: Kirkwood Hospice’s employees taking on the Go Wild Challenge
In March this year, five of Kirkwood’s medical employees will be taking on the high-impact Go Wild Challenge and they need your help to raise as much as possible!
Made up of Doctor, Jen Moffat, and In-Patient Unit Nurses Moira Solomou, Colette Land, Katie Laycock and Lisa Choma, the ‘KirkWild Crew’ will be taking on Kirkwood’s latest adrenaline-packed fundraiser.
The event, taking place on Saturday 2nd March in the Lake District, will see individuals take on outdoor challenges, once in a lifetime experiences, and face steep heights and sharp descents to raise as much as possible in sponsorship for Kirkwood Hospice.

Facing waterfall jumps, hiking, rock climbing, canyoning, caving and abseiling, the team are not short of challenges to tackle.
The group, who took on the Survival of the Fittest Challenge last year, have taken up running in preparation and have several fundraisers planned in to raise the necessary funds, including a Bake Off on the In-Patient Unit.
Speaking of their challenge, the team said: “The whole Hospice team provide outstanding specialist palliative care for people living with life limiting illnesses in Kirklees. We are very proud to be part of this but the Hospice is a charity and relies on donations and fundraising for it to continue to provide high quality care.
The KirkWild Crew!
“We have decided to push ourselves to the limits, dare to be fearless and find our wild by participating in the Go Wild for Kirkwood event! We really will be facing our biggest fears and testing our nerves.
“We had so much fun doing the challenge last year so we wanted to do something again while raising money for Kirkwood. As well as challenging ourselves, we also thought it was a good opportunity to represent the IPU and help people get to know us a bit better while putting a face to a name.
“We will be very grateful for every donation we receive, big or small. Your generosity will make a huge difference to the care we provide. Thank you in advance!”

The Crew have already smashed their fundraising target of £1,250 within 24 hours of their JustGiving page being live, but they need your help to raise as much in sponsorship as possible. You can support them by clicking here.
