Bernard Ainsworth OBE
Chair of Trustees
Bernard lives in Edgerton with his wife Rosemary, a place where they have lived for over 30 years. After a 40 plus year career in construction, both in the UK and abroad, he now carries a number of Non-Executive Director roles on major construction projects including the UK's first tidal lagoon power generation scheme at Swansea and EDF's first UK Nuclear Power Station in Somerset. He is also offering his support to the DfT for High Speed 2, a scheme destined to transform UK's N to S transport links.
Bernard has returned to the role of Trustee, having previously occupied this position for 5 years in the early 2000's, and he is pleased to be back supporting the Hospice. He says: "The role has changed over the last seven years; it is better developed and more defined and I am looking forward to working with my fellow trustees in supporting Michael and his team in continuing to deliver Kirkwood's superb service."
