Lorraine Chapman
Trustee

Lorraine currently lives in Birstall and has her roots in Kirklees, having spent her childhood in Mirfield. She was educated at Heckmondwike Grammar School and attended the University of Durham, gaining her BA in Business Economics. A career in the NHS beckoned and after completing the NHS Management Training Scheme, Lorraine was appointed Business Manager for Children’s Services at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. In 2011, she graduated from the University of Birmingham with an MSc in Healthcare Management.

Lorraine developed her commercial skills at Leeds Community Healthcare through leading the Business Development and Contracting function. During her time, Lorraine secured significant new income for the organisation through successfully winning a number of high profile tenders. Currently Head of Contracting and Performance at NHS Wakefield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), Lorraine is lead manager for all CCG contractual relationships. Portfolio responsibilities include performance, business intelligence, procurement and market management.

Having significant operational and strategic experience gained within the NHS, Lorraine enjoys applying her knowledge and skills in healthcare to make a valuable contribution to the local community in a voluntary capacity. She was appointed a Trustee of Kirkwood Hospice in 2012; a role which she finds extremely enjoyable and immensely rewarding.
