Education & Training

Kirkwood Hospice strongly believes that education is the key in understanding the needs of both people who have a life threatening illness and their carers.

Once these needs are understood, then the hospice is in a better position to learn the skills required, in order to provide high quality support.

Providing a quiet environment close to local amenities and benefiting from free parking and on-site catering, Kirkwood Education Centre opened in 1997, as part of the building work to extend Day Care provision at the hospice.

Kirkwood has a comprehensive programme of education and training delivered in a purpose built education suite that is independent of the patient areas of the hospice.  It is also available for hire by external organisations, an ideal venue for seminars, study days and meetings (away from the normal workplace).  Our Centre offers a quiet environment, close to local amenities, with free parking and on-site catering – all within a private, tranquil setting.
